Penelope Young Andrade, LCSW is a licensed psychotherapist, founder of the San Diego Center for Psychosynthesis, and founder of Transformational Talk Radio. Since 1998 Penelope has written an acclaimed monthly advice column, “Transformational Talk,” for The Life Connection which reaches all of southern California. For more than 40 years she has been studying and integrating the best of traditional and alternative psychotherapies including Family Systems, Psychosynthesis, Eidetic Imagery, Bioenergetics, Biodynamics, Brennan’s ‘Hands of Light’, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Mindfulness She has been an adjunct professor at San Diego University for Integral Studies, University for Humanistic Studies, and the Natural Healing Institute. She and her husband, Arturo, developed and researched the innovative VIVO Oral Focus™ method for body oriented self soothing. Penelope lectures and trains therapists and lay audiences throughout the country, inspiring people everywhere about the boons and benefits of Emotional Medicine. She enjoys California’s sunny outdoor living, hiking, swimming, meditating, high desert, high Sierra, and Deer Park retreats with Arturo, and any time at all with her grandsons, Ezekiel and Sebastien.
